Maria Bananna first studied fashion in Paris where she fell in love with textile design and the creation of patterns, illustrations and textures . 
After travelling and owning a fashion brand for a couple of years , she found her creative home in Spain between the sea and the mountains .
This is there that she began her transition into artistic practice, as she was looking to make something more fulfilling and nourishing for her soul.

Her work is deeply intuitive and spontaneous, often inspired by organic shapes and vivid colours of nature , where movement and layers of textures is her only guide.
Each piece captures fleeting moments from her daily life and distant memories, transforming abstract emotions into tangible art . A reflection of where she is, and how she feels . 

Bold colours are her visual vocabulary for translating her hypersensitivity that tends to make her see things more vividly than usual.
